About Me
Karen Smith Hunter
Today families are preserving stories for hundreds of years. The creation
of the internet allows many people to share their heritage in a unique,
creative way by utilizing more than a pencil and paper.
Scrapbooks and history books reveal marvelous stories hidden in file
cabinets and closets for decades. Century old beautiful, fragile photos
reveal details of family and friends who lived wonderful, creative lives
while facing great challenges. Persons featured on this website attempted to
endure the weather, wars, and diseases, many of the perils transformed their
lives.
Via this website, treasured stories will not be forgotten.
Mrs. Hunter, a 4th generation Oklahoman, continues the line of written
history of her grandmothers and mother, only with a different avenue for
sharing the facts and graphics.
Mrs. Hunter is involved in Oklahoma and national preservation organizations
including:
- Friends of Marland’s Grand Home Foundation, Inc. as a former board
member
- Pioneer Genealogical Society
- National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Ponca City, Oklahoma
